As 2019 draws to a close, everyone has their sights firmly set on the New Year!

Some of us rush off into the future with all the enthusiasm of a Labrador puppy, filling our calendars with new plans and ‘resolutions.’
And while I LOVE setting exciting new goals, leaping forward without proper reflection and focus isn’t recommended.
We can’t build a new house, without first taking the time to create the foundations.
So, before you start planning 10K months or that holiday to the Maldives…I want to invite you to do some housekeeping.

Did you just yawn?
I know…it’s not exciting!
But hear me out.
The end of the year is a little like the end of a beautiful (or difficult) relationship.
It can be a whole lot more fun to distract ourselves with new possibilities than to do the work and assimilate what’s happened.
The key to moving forward with confidence is being able to assess ourselves with honestly and to find closure.

Maybe you achieved everything you wanted to in 2019 and you feel super proud of yourself!
If you did….I am truly celebrating with you!
However, some of you might have found this to be a challenging year.
You might not have done all you set out to do and this can bring up feelings of guilt and disappointment.
The danger of not addressing this, is that we charge in to 2020 like a steam-rolling rhinoceros, ready to achieve EVERY single desire we have ever had since the age of 7!
So, in order to create a plan that is grounded, authentic and achievable, I am going to invite you to do the following.
3 STEPS TO CLOSE THE YEAR WITH CONFIDENCE
1. COMPLETE
What do you need to do in order to complete 2019?
This can be any unfinished job; from tax returns to backing up your files, from checking your Anti-Virus software to clearing an organised workspace.
If there is one job that’s been on your to-do list all year…get it done!
Completion is about tying up loose ends in order to create more space.
When you create space around you, new energy, fresh ideas and opportunities can come flooding in.

2. REFLECT
Did this year go to plan?
If it did….AMAZING!
If not, maybe read on.
You are all highly intelligent, ambitious people who push yourselves in order to achieve your goals.
However, just occasionally, this can come with extremely high self-expectations and self-criticism.

Have you veered in to the land of ‘should?’
‘I should have booked more clients. I should have got my website online. I should have lost 6 stone, taken up yoga, found my soul mate, backpacked across Europe and been a better mummy!’
If you have, then I am going to ask you to see this as an opportunity for growth.
There really is no such thing as ‘should.’
You are exactly where you are supposed to be!
ACCEPT where you are.
ACKNOWLEDGE how far you have come.
Find GRATITUDE in the journey.
3. CELEBRATE
Write down 20 things you are truly proud of achieving this year?

I’d like you to think about all the things that you did this year that made you proud of you.
It doesn’t matter how big or small they are.
Celebrate them!
Shout them from the rooftops!
Own your wins…without comparison or judgement.

Wishing you all a confident, fabulously fun and festive week!
